Army engineers column undertakes recue work in Jodhpur’s flood affected areas

An army column was rushed to Sultannagar and Natbasti area in Jodhpur on Wednesday to undertake rescue and restoration work after the region was inundated due to heavy rains.
Requested by District Magistrate, a column of 3 officers 3 JCO and 30 other ranks of Konark Air Defence Missile Regiment and Engineers reached the affected area yesterday to flush the water out which had reached a level of 6-8 feet.
Despite of heavy flooding and continuous rainfall the team deployed four pumps to flush out the water and gave all possible help to civilians including the civil authorities. Five vehicles for emergency evacuation were also placed in the affected area. The operation was carried out throughout the night.
