In a critical incident, an Mi17 V5 helicopter of Indian Air Force has crash landed near Mana Pass of Chamoli in Uttarakhand during a Army drill exercise of the Kumaon regiment at North of Badrinath, Joshi math sector.
Although no harm to any life or loss of property has been reported. The chopper was carrying 15 members out of which few have received some minor injuries.Â
According to a IAF spokesperson the chopper was plying in the area performing normal duties and was used by the Army's Kumaon regiment during a routine drill exercise. Reportedly a technical fault caused a mishap.
"It was a force landing immediately after take-off. All crew and passengers are safe,†the spokesperson said.Â
A decoreated infantry of the Indian Army, the Kumaon regiment get its recruits from Ahirs and Kumaonis of the Uttarakhand state.
