Assam: Government employees to face suspension on birth of third child
Assam Government On Friday Announces New Birth Control Norms In The State. Under This, Any Government Employee Giving Birth To Third Child Will Be Suspended And Anyone Applying For Government Job In The State Should Not Have More Than Two Children.

Assam government on Friday announces new birth control norms in the state. Under this, any government employee giving birth to third child will be suspended and anyone applying for government job in the state should not have more than two children.
As well, it was also announced that anyone having more than two children will not be eligible to contest for panchayat election in the state.
As per details from Census 2011, Assam has population of 3.12 Crores, an increase from figure of 2.67 Crore in 2001 census. Total population of Assam as per 2011 census is 31,205,576 of which male and female are 15,939,443 and 15,266,133 respectively.
