Auto-driver murders man for not paying Rs 50 fare in Odisha
Odisha Police Had Recovered A Half-burnt Mutilated Body Of Middle-age Man On January 21 Near Roadside In Jajpur. During Its Investigation They Identified The Deceased As Rabindra Nayak.
A man was murdered in Odisha by an auto-rickshaw driver for not paying a fare of Rs 50, said Odisha Police on Friday.
Odisha Police had recovered a half-burnt mutilated body of middle-age man on January 21 near roadside in Jajpur. During its investigation they identified the deceased as Rabindra Nayak.
“We have arrested the auto-rickshaw driver,” Jajpur SDPO Prashant Kumar Malla.
Another senior police officer investigating the case told the media that Nayak had hired an auto-rickshaw from Budhaghat area to return to his village.
“After travelling a distance he asked the driver to halt and handed him Rs 10. The driver Deepak Pati insisted for the Rs 50 promised,” added the officer.
He further added that Pati attacked Nayak with a wooden plank on his head after an heated argument. “He died at the incident site. Two escape arrest Pati burnt the body,” added the officer.
