Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Has Appointed Woman Guards For The First Time After Student Protested Against Eve Teasing In The Varsity Campus Last Month.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has appointed woman guards for the first time after student protested against eve teasing in the varsity campus last month.
The varsity has appointed seven women as security guards. The university will appoint 28 more women for the the security of female students within the campus.
“Seven women have been appointed and 28 more to be hired,” said Royana Singh, first woman chief proctor of BHU.
The chief proctor further informed that the newly-appointed women security guards have undergone motivational and security training at the Uttar Pradesh Ex-Servicemen Welfare Board.
“The women security guards have been deployed at BHU by Mahila Maha Vidyalaya,” said Singh.
The woman security guard squad was formed by the BHU on the suggestion of district magistrate Yogeshwar Ram Mishra.
