Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (Fonrwa), which had planned to stage a protest at DND flyway against the hike in the flyway’s toll rates, today postponed their agitation for one week.
The Association took the decision of postponement of the protest after meeting with DND flyway management along with the District Magistrate at DM camp office here today, a Fonrwa official said.
The meeting was attended by the SP (city) and representatives of Noida Toll Bridge Company (NTBC), the DND operator, he said.
“As the Fonrwa representatives were not well equipped with the information and data asked by the DM and SP (city), they were directed to come with the requisite data on December 29,” said the Fonrwa official, adding that “till then, we were advised to postpone our agitation.”
Starting at midnight on Friday last, the new toll rate for four-wheelers will be Rs 28 instead of the current Rs 25, up by 12 per cent while two-wheelers have been exempted from the toll hike. Tax for other vehicles - commercial and large - has been hiked by up to 27 per cent.
