The fourth accused in the Bhopal gang rape case has been arrested by Special Investigation Team on Sunday. The accused named Rakesh was hiding at a relative’s place when the SIT personnel nabbed him.
After six days of manhunt, the police on Monday announced prize money on the accused.
The gang-rape incident which happened on Tuesday in Bhopal brought about the painful memory of December 16 gang rape. Â Â
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday took cognisance of 19-year-old’s gang-rape case of Bhopal. He directed trial in a fast-track court.
Chouhan also directed action against negligent policemen.
"3 accused arrested, identification of one more accused underway. One sub-inspector at MP Nagar suspended," said Dharmendra Singh, ASP, GRP.
The woman, a UPSC aspirant, was allegedly raped by four men near the railway tracks when she was returning from a coaching class in MP Nagar.
The incident had occurred on Tuesday night in the vicinity of the Habibganj railway station.Â
