Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assures that Bihar shall become deaddictive state after the prohibition of liquor.
“After the total liquor ban we will soon move to slowly achieve deaddiction,” Kumar told a function at Barhara in Purnea district.
Dismissing tensions over loss of revenue on account of prohibition, CM clarifies that a fractional difference accrued in tax revenue collection in the year 2016-17.
The government received Rs5000 crore annually from tax on liquor earlier and ban was seen as bad economics for the state, by the opposition.

The statistics, according to Nitish, have proved wrong those who had apprehended drop in tourists due to this ban as the data collected suggested an increase of 68 per cent in the arrival of domestic tourists to Bihar and 9 per cent increase in the footfall of foreigner tourists in 2016-17 as compared to 2015-16.
Kumar also shares his plan regarding starting a drive across the state against social evils like dowry and child marriage.
Liquor ban has uplifted the society in many ways and Nitish assures the development of the state in near future.
