Slamming the centre for not doing its homework before announcing ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday accused BJP of making false promises.
While addressing a 'Chetna sabha' at the start of his second leg of Nishchay yatra, Nitish said, “I am in favour of the decision to demonetise Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes which will help end '2 number ka dhanda' (illegal business).”
“I want an attack on benami properties earned through illegal means for more effective results against black money,” he added.
Kumar also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that poor are enjoying sound sleep, the CM claimed “Farmers and common people toil hard in fields, but those involved in number illegal business buy benami property and enjoy deep sleep.”
Criticising the Modi government, he demanded suitable arrangements for the poor and women. Taking a jibe at BJP, Kumar said, “We are not jumla baaz (practitioner of jumla). I make only those promises which can be fulfilled.”
