BJP 104, Congress 78: News Nation exit poll predicted Karnataka elections on dot
Karnataka on Tuesday threw a fractured mandate with the BJP emerging as the single largest party in a hung house.
The Congress remained a distant number two and the JD-S, though, number three but emerged as the kingmaker or we should rather say the king.
While most post-poll surveys struggled to predict a clear picture, the News Nation exit poll predicted the Karnataka Assembly election results on dot.
In our survey, we had predicted a hung house and the BJP single largest party with 104 seats. We also predicted 72-78 seats for the Congress, which again proved to be accurate enough.
Here is what we predicted:
The exit poll gave BJP 38 per cent of the votes with 99-108 seats for the Narendra Modi-led party, whereas Congress was given 35 per cent of the votes with a win over 75-84 seats.
The JD(S) was predicted to play the role of kingmaker as per the News Nation exit polls, with 19 per cent votes or 31-40 seats.
Whereas, Other parties were expected to get 8 per cent of the total votes, with 03-07 seats.
