BJP Mocks Shiv Sena After Rahul Gandhi's 'I'm Not Savarkar' Remark
Congress Today Held A 'Bharat Bachao' Rally At Ramlila Grounds On Saturday To Highlight The Divisive And Disruptive Policies Of The BJP Government.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday mocked Shiv Sena, a new Congress ally, over Rahul Gandhi’s ‘my name is Rahul Gandhi, not Rahul Savarkar’ remark and wondered who the ruling party of Maharashtra would react to it. "Looking forward to seeing Shiv Sena defend Rahul Gandhi for his statement implying that Veer Savarkar was a coward who apologised'!" BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya tweeted.
Earlier, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi refused to apologise over his "Rape in India" remark and mocked Sangh ideologue VD Savarkar saying "I am not Rahul Savarkar and I will not apologise for speaking the truth".
“It is Narendra Modi and his assistant Amit Shah who has to apologise to the country for destroying India's economy." Accusing the Prime Minister of singlehandedly "destroying" the economy, he said, "It is Prime Minister himself and not India's enemies who has destroyed our economy and (he) still calls himself a patriot".
Prior to Rahul’s speech, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi addressed the crowd accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party over rise in crime incidents, unemployment and farmers’ issue. Mocking the BJP over 'Modi hai to mumkin hai' slogan, she said that "BJP hai to berozgari hai, BJP hai to farmers ko pareshani hai (If there is BJP, there is unemployment… if there is BJP, there is suffering of millions of farmers),” she said.
Priyanka said one who doesn't fight injustice in the country will be judged as a coward. "One who doesn't fight against injustice in country will be judged as a coward. If we remain silent, our revolutionary Constitution will be destroyed and country's division will start," she said.
She also urged the people to stand united against this government. “If we remain silent, our revolutionary Constitution will be destroyed and country's division will start,” the Congress leader said.
