Blue Whale challenge: Supreme Court recognises deadly online game as national problem
The Centre Has Told SC That It Has Set Up An Expert Committee To Look Into The Issue And File A Report Within Three Weeks.
Finally the menace of deadly Blue Whale Game has been recognised as a national problem by the apex court of India. The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday was hearing a plea to ban the game.Â
In a direction issued by the SC, it has said that both the national broadcaster i.e. Doordarshan and other private news media channels must create awareness about the game by telecasting its hazards.
The Supreme Court bench of judge was headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra has also asked the centre's response on other similar games like Choking game, Salt and Ice Challenge, Fire Challenge, Cutting challenge, Eyeball challenge and Human Embroidery game.Â
The Centre has told SC that it has set up an expert committee to look into the issue and file a report within three weeks. As of now the online self harm game has claimed over 100 lives all over India and many more across the world.Â
