BR Ambedkar statue vandalised again, CM Yogi asks police to take stern action
Domariyaganj MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Immediately Went To The Spot And Alleged That Samajwadi Party And Bahujan Samaj Party Are Behind The Incident.
A statue of BR Ambedkar on Saturday, was vandalised by some unidentified persons in Gohaniya village of Siddharthnagar district in Uttar Pradesh.
The Ambedkar statue was found damaged on Saturday morning, triggering protests by many locals, the police said.
The locals are demanding urgent arrest of the culprits involved. The statue is currently being replaced and an official case has been filed, said SP Dr. Dharamvir.
This incident comes just days after the UP government issued orders to change the name of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar as Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
Domariyaganj MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh, immediately went to the spot and alleged that Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are behind the incident. Whereas, Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that stern action will be taken against the culprits who vandalised the statue.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Siddharthnagar district on Monday.
