Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were neutralised in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore on Saturday evening, said the police, adding that arms and ammunition were also recovered.
The gunfight broke out after security forces received specific information about the presence of terrorists in Warpora area of Sopore of Baramulla district. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.
He said as the forces were conducting searches in the area, the hiding militants fired upon them. The forces retaliated, ensuing a gunfight, the official said.
