BSP chief Mayawati resigns from Rajya Sabha, alleges ruling party BJP does not allow her to speak in the House
While Talking To Reporters, Mayawati Blamed, Saying That It Is Good For Her To Quit The Upper House As The Ruling Party BJP Does Not Allow Her To Speak On The Issues Related To Dalits.
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Tuesday resigned from the Rajaya Sabha. She has submitted a 3-page letter to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
While talking to reporters, Mayawati blamed, saying that it is good for her to quit the Upper House as the ruling party BJP does not allow her to speak on the issues related to Dalits.She said she represents the Dalit community and if she cannot raise the issues in the House, it’s is pointless to continue as a member.
The BSP supremo said,"The RS Deputy Chairman unfortunately instead of asking ruling party MPs to remain quiet, ringed the bell and told me to sit."
Sources said that her resignation will not be accepted as the standard resignation letter should be written in a single line.
Earlier in the day, she had threatened to resign in the Upper House, saying that she was not being allowed to speak on Saharanpur Dalit atrocities by the Deputy Chairman of the House, PJ Kurein.
