Unidentified gunman rob a 63-year-old businessman of Rs 15 lakh after shooting him on Tuesday in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area on Tuesday, said police.
According to police, the deceased Kamaljeet Sethi around 9:30 am was going to deposit Rs 15 lakh at Federal Bank in Malviya Nagar when the gunman shot at him and escaped with the money.
Police added, an eyewitness of the incident an auto-rickshaw driver who tried to nab the gunman has also suffered injuries in the shoot and rob incident.
The Delhi Police added that the gunman tried snatching the bag filled with cash on gunpoint as Sethi stepped out of his car. On resisting the robbery, the robber opened fire at the petrol pump owner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Chinmoy Biswal said, “The robber escaped on a bike with his associated after shooting at the businessman.”
Police said in their initial investigations they have learnt that the criminals had been following Sethi from last few days before carrying out the crime on Tuesday morning.
