Cabinet reshuffle: Satyapal Singh likely to get place in Modi cabinet, know him in 5 points
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner And BJP MP From Bhaghpat Satyapal Singh Is One Among Few Other MPs Who Fancy Their Chances To Get The Cabinet Berth In Modi Government.
Union ministers Rajiv Pratap Rudy and MoS Water Resources Sanjeev Balyan on Thursday resigned from the cabinet.
Apart from Rudy and Balyan, there are speculations that Commerce Minister Nirmala Sithaaraman and Water Resources minister Uma Bharti could also quite ahead of a possible cabinet reshuffle on Saturday.
With the ouster of old ministers, some new names could be inducted in PM Modi’s cabinet. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner and BJP MP from Bhaghpat Satyapal Singh is one among few other MPs who fancy their chances to get the cabinet berth in Modi government.
Five points about Dr. Satyapal Singh:
# Satyapal Singh was born in Basauli area of UP’s Baghpat in 1955. He is post-graduate in Chemistry and has also done his Ph.D. in Naxalism from Nagpur University. Before joining Indian Police Services, Singh wanted to become a scientist.
# Singh is credited for breaking the backbone of Mumbai’s underworld in the 1990s including Chhota Rajan, Chhota Shakil, Arun Gawli gangs.
# Styapal Singh began his political innings in 2014. He joined BJP at a rally in Meerut on February 2, 2014, in presence of party's PM candidate Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
# He fought his election against Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Supremo Ajit Singh from UP’s Baghpat constituency and registered a massive victory with a margin of 2,09,866 votes.
# Singh has also written two books. One on tackling the Naxal menace, and the other a self-help book, ‘Talash Insaan Ki’.
