Centre sanctions Rs 390 crore as calamity relief to Andhra, Arunachal, Nagaland
The Centre on Friday sanctioned nearly Rs 390 crore as additional assistance for three states- Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, which were affected by natural calamities during 2017-18.
The decision was taken at a high-level committee meeting held in the national capital, according to an official statement.
The committee approved the additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund of Rs 179.91 crore (Rs 66.77 crore for floods and Rs 113.14 crore for drought - rabi) for Andhra Pradesh, Rs 144.26 crore for Arunachal Pradesh and Rs 65.69 crore for Nagaland.
While Andhra Pradesh was affected by floods and drought, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland by were hit by floods and landslides during 2017-18, the statement added.
