Chattisgarh: Man kills mother on suspicion of character in Jharan village

A 46-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her son on suspicion of her character at Jharan village in Chattisgarh’s Raigad, police said on Saturday.
The accused, Guruwaru Kanwar (26) has been arrested by the police for the crime that took place on Friday, the officials said.
Kanwar’s mother, Urmila Kanwar died on the spot after he attacked her. There was no one in the house except the duo as accused’s sister had gone to fetch water, they added.
“The accused suspected his mother’s character and they used to be quarrel over the issue,” the officials said.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s kin, Lailunga police arrested Guruwaru on Friday and also recovered the club used in the crime.
The accused has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a local court.
