Chhattisgarh: IED blast near Gogunda in Sukma district, 2 jawans injured
Sukma ASP Shalabh Sinha Said That Both The Jawans Were Conscious But Efforts Were On To Airlift Them And Shift To Raipur Hospital For A Better Treatment.
At least two jawans were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast near Gogunda in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Tuesday, reported ANI news agency. The injured jawans were from 2 District Reserve Guard (DRG). Sukma ASP Shalabh Sinha said that both the jawans were conscious but efforts were on to airlift them and shift to Raipur hospital.Â
"Both the jawans are conscious. We are trying to airlift them to Raipur for better treatment,"Â Shalabh Sinha, ASP Sukma, was quoted as saying by ANI.
Sukma is one of the worst Maoist-hit districts of Chhattisgarh and the attacks on security personnel are not unusual. Although it was not yet clear whether the blast was carreid out by Maoists but they remained the primary suspect.
Earlier last month, four BSF jawans were killed in an encounter with Maoists in the state's Kanker district. On March 28, the security personnel had killed four suspected Maoists in another encounter in Sukma district.
