Citizenship Act: Complaint Against Arundhati Roy For 'Ranga-Billa' Remark
Arundhati Roy Had Said That People Should Give Wrong Names Like Ranga-Billa When Officials Come To Collect Information For National Population Register.
A complaint has been filed against author and activist Arundhati Roy for allegedlly spreading misinformation over NRC-CAA as well as for asking people to give wrong information to government officials for the National Population Register. Rajeev Kumar Ranjan, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the complaint against Roy on Thursday.
"I have filed a complaint against activist Arundhati Roy for asking people to give wrong information to government officers who come to collect data for National Population Register (NPR)," says Supreme Court lawyer Rajeev Kumar Ranjan in Delhi.
However, a copy of the complaint obtained by News Nations, shows the author's name as Arun Darti Rai and Arun Dati Rai.
On Wednesday, while addressing a protest author and activist Arundhati Roy had said that people should give wrong names like Ranga-Billa when officials come to collect information for National Population Register (NPR).
"Whenever the officials come to collect your information for NPR, you can give wrong names like Ranga-Billa or Kungfu-Kutta and also give wrong address like 7, Race Course Road," Arundhati Roy said.
