'Truth will win, in the end though,' says Lalu after conviction in fodder scam
CBI Judge Shivpal Singh Pronounced The Verdict In A Packed Courtroom In The Case Pertaining To Fraudulent Withdrawal Of Rs 89.27 Lakh From Deoghar Treasury Between 1991 And 1994.
After being convicted in fodder scam, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday said the case was a “propaganda†against him and he will come clean in the end.
Soon after a special CBI court in Ranchi pronounced its verdict and held Lalu guilty, the RJD chief took to twitter to express his anguish.
Lalu in his tweet said, “Truth can be made to appear as a lie, as ambiguous or a half lie by concerted onslaught of bias driven propaganda. But blurred layer of bias and hatred will still be removed, come what may! In end Truth will win.â€
Lalu said he is a “son of soil†and “feudalist forces can bother him but can’t defeat.â€
Earlier, a special CBI court in Ranchi convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav and 15 others in a fodder scam case.
However, the special court acquitted former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and 6 others in the case.
CBI judge Shivpal Singh pronounced the verdict in a packed courtroom in the case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar Treasury between 1991 and 1994.
Lalu Prasad, the chief of RJD, and other convicts were taken into custody immediately after the pronouncement of the verdict.
Reacting to the verdict, RJD’s Manoj Jha said since the CBI was arranging prosecution and defence’s “legally admissible evidence†were set aside, they will get redressal at a higher court.â€
On October 27, 1997, CBI had filled a charge sheet against 38 persons in the fodder scam case. Eleven of them died and three turned approvers while two other accused confessed and were convicted in 2006-07, a CBI official said.
