The Visnagar Session Court on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrant against Hardik and Lalji Patel over vandalism in BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's Office.
The non-bailable warrant was issued in a case of attack on BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's Office which happened in 2015. The court issued non-bailable warrant for Hardik's absence on last three dates.
The MLA’s office in Visnagar was attacked in 2015 during the Patidar quota agitation.
In another incident, BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's car was attacked with stones while he was passing through ITI circle in Mehsana’s Visnagar city.
Visnagar was very important venue for Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti for agitation to demand reservations for Patel community.
AICC General Secretary Ashok Gehlot condemned the non-bailable warrant against Hardik Patel. He said that the action is BJP's undeclared emergency.
"Non-bailable warrant against youth leader Hardik Patel is symptomatic of BJP's undeclared emergency. As Gujarat Poll Dates were announced, BJP, fearing defeat, has taken this condemnable step. BJP should be ashamed of its dirty tactics. Non-bailable warrant against him is vindictive. Does BJP plan to contest elections by pressurising and threatening the young voices of Gujarat?" said Gehlot.
