Special vigilance unit (SVU) on Wednesday unearthed cash and jewellery worth Rs. 2.71 crore from an assistant engineer Kameshwar Prasad Singh’s house in Patna.
The value of his immovable properties is yet to be ascertained. Singh is an engineer of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO).
An FIR has already been lodged against Singh with SVU. The vigilance team had to procure search warrants from a court for the same.
The search team found gold jewellery worth around Rs 1.39 crore from bank lockers and his residence. Two gold bricks worth around Rs 61 lakh were also recovered from the locker of Singh’s daughter.
