Army Major booked for raping domestic help, abetting her husband's suicide
The Delhi police have filed an FIR against an Indian Army officer posted in Delhi Cantonment for allegedly raping his domestic help and abetting her husband’s suicide. The FIR against Major Gaurav was registered on September 25 following the woman’s complaint after her husband’s suicide under suspicious circumstances.
The woman – mother of a two-year-old boy – was living in servant’s quarters at the officer’s residence with her husband. The woman told the police that on July 12, Major Gaurav sent his husband out for some work and asked her to come in his room. When she refused, the Major assaulted her, dragged in his room and raped her repeatedly.

When her husband returned and saw the officer assaulting his wife, he had a fight with him. The major allegedly threatened the couple of dire consequences if they revealed this to the police.
Later, the woman alleged, the major and his relative killed her husband and told the police that he committed suicide. She then approached the police and later a Delhi court.
The police, however, said during the investigation, they learnt that the woman's husband had committed suicide in a servant quarter where they used to reside.
