Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal terms Governor Jung’s order revoking appointment of advocates as shameless
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal On Saturday Termed As “shameless' The Lt Governor’s Order Revoking The Appointment Of A Panel Of 15 Supreme Court Lawyers To Represent The Delhi Government.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday termed as “shameless” the Lt Governor’s order revoking the appointment of a panel of 15 Supreme Court lawyers to represent the Delhi government.
Kejriwal said, the order which has already been rejected by the AAP government, would lead to a situation where the Centre will decide who will represent Delhi in cases, including the one where it has challenged the August 4 Delhi High Court order.
“LG has shamelessly cancelled the appointments of all the advocates and passed an order in writing saying that the lawyers will be from the Central government’s panel. It essentially means the Centre will decide not only those who will represent them but those who will represent Delhi as well,” Kejriwal told reporters. In its August 4 judgement, the High Court had held that Delhi was a Union Territory and LG its administrative head.
