In a crime mapping survey conducted by Delhi Police, sensitive areas under 44 police stations in terms of crime against women have been identified and CCTV cameras installed in these areas.
These include Hauz Khas, Mehrauli, Sarojini Nagar, Safdarjung Enclave, FatehpurBeri, Vasunt Kunj North, VasuntKunj South, Neb Sarai and Malviya Nagar.
While talking about the measures taken post the Delhi gang rape in 2012, DCP (South) Ishwar Singh said that the cases of molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman in South district have gone down by around 30 per cent.
The patrolling teams and women officials at every police station are available and deal with women complainants on a one-to-one basis, he said. Out of the 44 police stations identified as sensitive, nine are in south Delhi.
