Ghaziabad farmers whose land had been acquired by National Highways will be given compensation. The District administration would distribute Rs 422 crore as compensation to farmers.
Authority of India (NHAI) has taken farmers land for the construction of three highways. District Magistrate Minishti S said the land was acquired for Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
The Distric Magistrate assured that compensation amount of Rs 422 crore will be paid by the end of this month. Rs 26 crores have already been credited to the bank accounts of the farmers through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), she said in a press conference at the collectoratehere.
