'Do It': Rahul Gandhi On BJP Moving Privilege Motion Against Him For Calling Pragya Thakur A 'Terrorist'
Rahul Gandhi On Thursday Said That Remarks Made By Thakur, On Nathuram Godse Reflect The ‘heart Of Heart Of The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh And BJP.'
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that he has clarified his stand on BJP lawmaker Pragya Thakur on calling her 'terrorist, after her 'Godse' remark in the Parliament.
His remark comes after Prgaya Thakur attacked the former Congress president, without taking his names, for calling her ‘terrorist’ despite being acquitted by a court.
"A respected member here insulted me by calling me a ‘terrorist’," Thakur said in the Lok Sabha.
Gandhi on Thursday said that remarks made by Thakur, on Nathuram Godse reflect the ‘heart of heart of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and BJP.’
"What she (Pragya Thakur) is saying, that is the heart of the RSS and BJP, what can I say? It cannot be hidden. I don't need to waste my time demanding action against that woman," Gandhi told reporters outside the Parliament.
Later, he took to Twitter to term the remarks a sad day in the history of India’s parliament. "Terrorist Pragya calls terrorist Godse, a patriot. A sad day, in the history of India's Parliament," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, a BJP member in Lok Sabha on Friday demanded a privilege motion against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his purported remarks describing Pragya Thakur as a terrorist.
When Congress members were seeking an unconditional apology from Thakur, Nishikant Dubey urged the Speaker to allow a privilege motion against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly dubbing a sitting MP as a terrorist. Dubey said the Speaker is the custodian of the law and should ensure the dignity of members of the House.
