Dumper carrying stones from illegal mine crushes Rajasthan police constable to death

The illegal mining problem of Rajasthan is again in the news after a dumper carrying stones from an illegal mine ran over a police constable who was trying to stop it.
30-year-old Rajasthan police constable Lalaram had gone to an illegal mining site in Bhiwadi area of Alwar district where he spotted a truck carrying stones from the mining. He tried to stop the dumper but the driver did not stop and ran over him causing his death.
“He tried to stop the dumper, which was carrying stones from the mine, but the driver did not stop and crushed him," circle officer Bhiwadi Siddhant Sharma said.
Police have arrested dumper owner, Tamim, and his brother, Wasim, who was driving the vehicle, Sharma said.
Lalaram's body was kept at the mortuary in Bhiwadi from where it was handed over to his family after a postmortem. He was posted at the Chupanki police station in Alwar.

Illegal mining is an old issue of Rajasthan and according to a Central govt data of 2015, there were 2,339 illegal mines were operating against which only 72 court cases were filed.
The cases of illegal mining are on the rise in Rajasthan under Raje govt despite Centre's guidelines for regular monitoring and setting up of task force at state and district level.
