Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) witnessed a sudden strong dust storm on Friday evening, followed by drizzles and lighting in several areas.
The sudden storm dropped down the temperature from 37 degree Celsius to 18 degree Celsius (according to Google temperature).
The storm forced roads to come standstill as visibility was low, while pedestrians rushed hunting for shelter. According to airport authorities, nearly 24 flights were diverted.
According to MeT department officials, the wind speed was 98 kilometers per hour.
“The storm was triggered due to two cyclonic circulations over Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and a trough passing through central India,” an officer of MeT department said.
