Earthquake measuring 4.0 hits Rajasthan’s Sikar
The Earthquake Was 10km In Depth And Was Recorded At Latitude 27.4 North And Longitude 75.7 East
An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Sikar in Rajasthan at around 5 am on Sunday. There was, however, no loss of life reported. The earthquake was 10km in depth and was recorded at latitude 27.4 North and longitude 75.7 East. Earlier, Frank Hoogerbeets, who runs earthquake forecasting website Ditrianum, once again predicted that a massive earthquake measuring somewhere around 6 to 7 in the Richter scale could take place on this weekend. In a recent post, Hoogerbeets said that a rare planetary alignment which will begin on March 15 is the reason behind an increase in seismic activities in the coming days.
In January, Hoogerbeets had predicted that a planetary alignment within the solar system on January 29 and 30 would cause a widespread destruction of Earth as it would trigger major quakes in the second two weeks of February.
It may be noted that experts have previously dismissed Hoogerbeets’ claims, saying that there is no way earthquakes can be predicted. On March 1, several parts of Mumbai felt vibrations of an earthquake that occurred in Palghar district, over 100 km from Mumbai, Umbergaon and Vapi. According to officials from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and its seismology department, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded in Palghar district a little after 11 a.m.
