The Election Commission on Thursday rejected TTV Dhinakaran’s plea to defer hearing on AIADMK’s two-leaves symbol case. The sidelined AIADMK leader had filed a plea to grant 15 days additional time to submit affidavits in the party symbol dispute case.
The poll panel informed that the hearing would take place on October 6 as scheduled.
AIADMK (merged EPS-OPS factions) leaders will submit affidavit regarding two-leaves symbol case to Election Commission on Friday.
The EC had set September 29 as the deadline for all parties concerned to submit documents ahead of the hearing.
“The EC has rejected the request of TTV Dhinakaran for extension of time for submission of documents and hearing. Therefore, the hearing will be held on October 6 as scheduled,” an EC official said here.
The two AIADMK factions have submitted around 10 lakh papers as part of affidavits to stake claim for the two leaves symbol and the title of the party.
