Encounter Breaks Out Between Security Forces, Terrorists In Kashmir’s Tral
Meanwhile, Security Forces Have Been Conducting ‘Operation All Out’ To Root Out Terror Outfits From The Valley.
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral area on Sunday morning. According to reports, two terrorists are believed to be trapped in a residential area.
Earlier on Tuesday, a local terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora. The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Churswoo village of Awantipora in the early hours of Tuesday following an information about the presence of the terrorist there, they said.
The killed terrorist has been identified as Shahid, a resident of Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, the police said. He was asked to surrender by the security forces but he chose to engage them in a gunbattle, they said, adding that the ultra was killed after a brief exchange of fire.
Meanwhile, security forces have been conducting ‘Operation All Out’ to root out terror outfits from the Valley. As many as 160 terrorists were killed and 102 arrested in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. Jammu and Kashmir police’s stated that 250 ultras were active in UT.
Security Arrangements have been beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370. Since the removal of the special status from J&K, Pakistan is trying to push militias via LoC.
