Final hearing on Kulbhushan Jadhav case to start from February 18
The final round of hearings in the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was awarded death sentence by a Pakistani court, will start from February 18 to 21 next year, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced on Wednesday.
Jadhav, a former Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on the charges of spying in April 2017. Pakistan claimed that Jadhav entered into its territory through Iran and was arrested from Balochistan in March 2016.

While India accepted that Jadhav was a citizen of the country, it rejected Pakistan’s allegations of spying and said he was abducted from Iran.
In May 2017, India moved the ICJ against the verdict, terming it "egregious" violation of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963. The world court had halted Jadhav's execution until the final verdict on India’s appeal.
On August 23, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had claimed that they have "solid evidence" against Jadhav and expressed hopes to win the case.

"We have solid evidence against Jadhav and are hopeful we will win the case in the ICJ. We will try our best to present our stance in an effective manner before the ICJ," he had said.
