Forced conversion: CBI files charge sheet against shooter Tara Shadev's husband
The CBI Has Filed A Charge Sheet Against National-level Shooter Tara Sahdev's Husband Ranjit Singh Kohli Alias Raqibul Hasan For Allegedly Forcing Her To Convert To Islam.
The CBI has filed a charge sheet against national-level shooter Tara Sahdev's husband Ranjit Singh Kohli alias Raqibul Hasan for allegedly forcing her to convert to Islam. Besides also slapping dowry and rape charges against Kohli, the agency named in its charge sheet, Sahdev's mother-in-law Kaushal Rani and the then Registrar (Vigilance) in the Jharkhand high court, Mushtaque Ahmed, currently under suspension, for alleged criminal conspiracy. The charge sheet was filed before a special court in Ranchi which has taken cognisance of the charges and posted the next date of hearing for June 1.

Sahdev got married to Kohli on July 7, 2014. The athlete, 23, had alleged that she was tortured to convert to Islam. She had earlier claimed that Ranjit had concealed his religion before their marriage.

Kohli had apparently converted to Islam in 2007 after he met a godman who asked him to change his religion.
