Noida: Gangster Balraj Bhati shot dead in encounter by Special Task Force
Bhati Was Wanted In Several Cases Like Murder, Theft And Land Grabbing. Reportedly Bhati Carried A Reward Of 2.5 Lakh On His Head.
Gangster Balraj Bhati was killed in an encounter on Monday in Noida by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh. The dreaded gangster was shot dead in a joint operation involving police of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana.
Bhati was wanted in several cases like murder, theft and land grabbing. Reportedly Bhati carried a reward of 2.5 lakh on his head.
”Gangster Balraj Bhati was killed in an encounter in Noida’s Sector 49 by UP Special Task Force (STF). 1 carbine and 1 pistol recovered, 2 police personnel and 1 civilian were injured during the encounter,” said Amitabh Yash, IG, Special Task Force.
The gangster arrived in Noida with two other accomplices. After being intercepted by the STF officers, the criminals opened fire on them leaving the car at the spot. The officers shot Bhati dead but both of his accomplices fled the spot.
Bhati was involved in murders and robberies in Delhi and nearby areas. He was the partner of Sundar Bhati, who is serving jail term for murders, kidnapping and robberies.
