Ganpati Visarjan: 7 drown during immersion in Nashik district
With The 10-day Ganpati Festival Commencing From September 5 Which Concluded On Sombre Note On Thursday With Seven Deaths Due To Drowning During Immersion Of Idols Reported From Various Parts Of Nashik District, Police Said.
With the 10-day Ganpati festival commencing from September 5 which concluded on sombre note on Thursday, police said, seven deaths was reported during immersion of idols from various parts of Nashik district.
At Musalgaon village in Sinnar taluka, Rameshwar Shirsat (21) and Sandeep Shirsat (25) drowned while immersing a Ganesh idol in a pond, said an official attached to Musalgaon police station. Five deaths were reported from Vadivarhe (1), Dabhadi (1), Pimplad (1) all villages, and in Nashik city (2) during 'visarjan' (immersion), police said tonight.
Though police confirmed that deaths occurred during immersion, they didn't specify the exact circumstances and spots of the mishaps. The deceased are identified as Nilesh Patil (25), Bhushan Kasbe (17), Sumit Pawar (14), Amol Patil, and Roshan Salve, police said.
