Giriraj shocker: Fix two-kid norm for all religions in India to ensure daughters safety
According To The News Daily’s Report, He Was Referring To Districts Such As Kishanganj And Araria, Where Muslim Population Has Been Increasing At A Faster Pace Than Hindu Population.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday came up with another bizarre idea to increase number of Hindu boys in India. He also defended the idea with layer of statements to safeguard daughters in the country.“Daughters will not be safe and might have to be kept under the veil, like in Pakistan,” said the Bharatiya Janata Party leader to a news daily.“Hindus should have two sons, Muslims, too, should have two sons. Our population is coming down. Bihar has seven such districts where our population has gone down. Population rules have to be changed, only then will our daughters be safe. Otherwise, like Pakistan, we too will have to keep our daughters under the veil,” said Giriraj, who is Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He was addressing a gathering at cultural yatra in Bagaha, West Champaran, where Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers were also present in the audience.According to the news daily’s report, he was referring to districts "such as Kishanganj and Araria, where Muslim population has been increasing at a faster pace than Hindu population". This is not the first time he has courted a controversy by passing such statement. Earlier this month, Singh attributed the fatwa asking Muslim community members not to chant 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' to a conspiracy by "international powers" to destroy India and divide it into bits and pieces. Last month, he had said that Akhilesh Yadav's government has turned Uttar Pradesh into a "nursery of terrorism" and alleged that it was not dismissing Azam Khan for fear of losing Muslim votes.
