Goa: Vishwajit Rane quits as Congress MLA, says he submitted his resignation as party member also with 'heavy heart'
Rane Did Not Cast His Vote During Floor Test In The Assembly On Thursday. Goa Chief Minister Won The Trust Vote With Support Of 22 MLAs.
Goa Congress MLA Vishwajit Rane on Thursday resigned from Congress party and assembly after he took on Congress party high command for lackadaisical approach over government formation in the state.
Rane did not cast his vote during floor test in the assembly on Thursday. Goa Chief Minister won the trust vote with support of 22 MLAs.
Rane submitted his resignation to protem speaker Sidharth Kuncalienkar and said that he would contest again from the Valpoi seat. After submitting his resignation, Rane said that he has submitted his resignation as member of Congress party with heavy heart, and it made him sad.
"With heavy heart today I have submitted my resignation as member of Congress party. It makes me sad," Rane said.
The protem speaker asked Rane to reconsider his decision of resignation.
Rane said that leaders like him will start leaving Congress all across country when the observers became unable to assess the situation.

When asked about his letter to Rahul Gandhi, Rane said that he has not received any reply from him as he has no hope for the same. Rane further added that he does not want to comment on him.
