Gold weighing over one kg and worth about Rs 32.4 lakh has been seized at the International airport in nearby Karipur and one person arrested in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of customs officials intercepted a woman who arrived from Muscat by an Air India Express flight on Monday morning, a press release said.
A search revealed that she had concealed four crude gold bangles and two crude gold chains weighing 1,044 grams and valued at Rs 32.34 lakh, under her burkha.
The woman was arrested and later let off on bail, it said.
