The government would create five crore jobs in the country by 2022, said Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday.
Speaking at the inauguration of a job ‘mela’ (fair), he said similar fairs would be conducted in Telangana soon.
The Centre gave Rs 170 crore for skill development centres in the state, the minister said.
“As the Centre is giving importance to skill development, the state government should also provide skill development for the youth for better employment opportunities,” Dattatreya said.
Nearly 10,000 people attended the job fair, where around 60 companies participated and offered jobs to 1000 persons in various sectors, stated an official release.
