The Communications Minister Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that the government has introduced three new methods to link Aadhaar with mobile phones. The new methods to link Aadhaar with phones included one-time password (OTP).
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced the three new methods for linking of Aadhaar — through one-time password, app-based and interactive voice response (IVRS) facility.
The new methods will allow users to link Aadhaar with mobile phones without visiting office of telecom provider.
“For the ease of senior citizens and the people with disability and chronic illness, DoT has also recommended for the re-verification at subscribers’ doorstep,” a DoT statement said.
