Honeypreet Insan moves Delhi High Court seeking anticipatory bail

Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Singh’s adopted daughter Honey Insan, who has been on run following an FIR against her for inciting violence in Panckula, approached the Delhi High Court seeking anticipatory bail on Monday.
Honeypreet, tops the list of 45 people wanted by the Haryana Police for inciting violence in Haryana after Dera chief’s conviction in August 25. A lookout notice was issued against her by the Haryana police.
Pradeep Kumar Arya, Honeypreet’s lawyer said, “We have filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Delhi High Court.”
He added that the matter would be mentioned on Tuesday before a bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal for early hearing.

Gurmeet Singh was convicted by the special CBI court in Panchkula on August 25, following which violence erupted in Panchkula and other districts of Haryana. The incident had left 41 people dead. The court sentenced him 20 years jail term for raping two of his followers in 2002.
Honeypreet on August 25 had travelled with the Dera chief on special chopper to Rohtak from Panchkula after the conviction.
Haryana Police had sent several teams to Indo-Nepal borders and other states in search of Honeypreet.
The Haryana police have also attached the properties of Honeypreet, Aditya Insan and Pawan Insan. The state police had also raised an international alert to nab the absconding Dera chief’s daughter.
