High intensity earthquake in Noth India; epicenter in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush
The Earthquake Epicentred In The Hindukush Mountain Range In Afghanistan Struck At Around 2.40 PM, Sending Ripples Across Several States Like Jammu And Kashmir, Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Uttarakhand And Rajasthan.
High intensity earthquake measuring 7.5 on Richter Scale was on Monday witnessed in Delhi-NCR for nearly 1-2 minutes. It was even felt in other parths of North India.
The earthquake epicentred in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan struck at around 2.40 PM, sending ripplesacross several states like Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Uttarakhand andRajasthan.
The earthquake was witnessed in regions ranging from Pakistan to Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Tremors were also felt in Katra, Vaishno Devi creating panic in pilgrims. Delhi metro was even stopped for few minutes following quake reporting.
Last time a medium-intensity earthquake measuring 3.0 magnitude was measured on the Richter scale which hit the national capital on October 10.
Last time epicentre of the earthquake was located in Delhi-NCR and the depth of the tremor was 5 km.
People frantically rushed out of their houses and offices as the ground shook. In the national capital, metro sevriceswere briefly halted. There were no immediate reports of loss of life orproperty.
