Himachal Pradesh: 11 killed in accident as car falls into gorge in Kullu
At least 11 people, including five women and three children, died on Thursday after a private vehicle fell into a gorge in Rani Nullah on the Manali-Leh Highway in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, according to PTI.
“The deceased include five women, three children and three men,†Superintendent of Police, Kullu, Shalini Agnihotri told PTI.
Initially, nine people were said to have died in the accident. However, the number rose to 11.
The accident victims were on their way Pangi from Manali when the unfortunate accident occurred. Poor visibility due to heavy rainfall has been said to be the main cause of the accident.
The villagers had started the rescue operation before the authorities could reach the spot, as per the reports.
