Hindu Ekta Manch warns of agitation if minor’s rape and murder accused not released immediately
“We Are Against The Murder Of The Girl But We Don’t Want Our Men Framed. We Have Lost Faith In Police Investigations,' A HEM Worker Said.
The activists of Hindu Ekta Manch (HEM) have warned of an agitation if Deepak Khajuria, a Special Police Officer (SPO), accused of the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in J&K’s Kathua district was not released immediately.
Khajuria was arrested last week by the state police in connection with the rape and murder of the minor.
“We are against the murder of the girl but we don’t want our men framed. We have lost faith in police investigations,” a HEM worker said.
Advocate Vijay Kumar of Hindu Ekta Manch who led the rally said, “The locals are demanding CBI investigation into the case.”
Distancing itself from the HEM the BJP state spokesman Arun Gupta told The New Indian Express, “We want that whoever has taken the law into his hand and committed a crime should be punished. There should be no leniency towards the person who has done wrong.”
