The Bhartiya Janata Party leaders on Thursday attacked Opposition parties for their decision to boycott GST launch event in Central Hall of Parliament on June 30.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that they hope every political party will reconsider and revisit its decisions and be party to launch of massive reform to which they have been themselves privy to.
"I can't recall any discussion which has been more or greater than the one in the case of GST. Those who have party to this consultation and decision making process must also accept this is not a decision of the Central govt, it's equally a decision which 31 state govts and UTs have been a party to and these are representing various political complexions," said FM Arun Jaitley.
Jaitley said that they must display broad shoulder and own up this decision and symbolic boycotts are not evidence of any kind of disassociation from these decisions.
"Did GST come suddenly? Is it being rolled out without discussion? No. I can't understand the reason. GST is Indian Economy's Tryst with Destiny. It is the biggest reform after independence," said Venkaiah Naidu on Congress' decision to boycott GST session.
