Hospital horror! Cleaning staff caught on camera removing patient’s drip in Karnataka
In a shocking incident, a cleaning staff was caught on camera doing the job of a nurse at Koratagere Government hospital in Karnataka’s Tumkur. The incident came to light after the video shot by the patient’s attendant went viral. Talking to News Nation, District Health Officer Dr Chandrakala said that the administration has taken cognizance and the ‘ayah’ has been removed with immediate effect. An inquiry has been constituted to look into the circumstances that led to such a lapse.

Attendant of a patient, who recorded the entire video, exposed the poor state of healthcare at the hospital where a cleaning staff was seen doing the job of a nurse. Shockingly, this all happened in the presence of the nurse. The 46-second clip showed the cleaning staff doing the duty of the nurse without any hesitation. When the cleaning staff realised that the attendant is recording a video, she quipped, “I am doing nurse’s job. Is it my mistake? Why is that attendant is recording a video like that?â€
On this, the attendant asked, “why are you doing the job of nurse?†To this, the cleaning staff replied, “You should ask them (hospital in-charge).â€
Agitated over the reply, the attendant said, “Your job is to clean and wash in the hospital.†This is where the nurse appears inside the ward and said, “What happened now?†When the attendant raised the concern and asked, “Is this her job to put drips in the hospital?†The nurse coolly replied, “No, no she is just removing.â€
The local administration sprang into action only after the video went viral. The DHO said that the nurse has been warned and told to stay vigilant in her shift. Â
