Hussein, Raza, Souza's works on display for city art lovers
In A Rare Opportunity For The Art Lovers Of The City, Works Of Art Masters Like Little Displayed ‘Krishna’ Of M F Husain, ‘Tattva Vriksha’ By S H Raza, Fluorescent Hued Forms Depicting The Vibrancy Of Life By Vidyasagar Upaddhya Are Now On Display In A City Art Gallery.
In a rare opportunity for the art lovers of the city, works of art masters like little displayed ‘Krishna’ of M F Husain, ‘Tattva Vriksha’ by S H Raza, fluorescent hued forms depicting the vibrancy of life by Vidyasagar Upaddhya are now on display in a city art gallery.“There are 20 art works on display which includes one of the best and lesser seen works of Hussein ‘Krishna’ where the base is acrylic on canvas cloth in which he has drawn the sketches with marker,” a spokesperson of Gallery Nakshatra told PTI.“There had been fewer occasions when great artists from Hussein to Jogen Chowdhury and Paritosh Sen, from Fransis Newton Souza ( F.N.Souza) have vied for space in a private gallery at the same time,” she said.The other Husseain paintings at the gallery were the Gaja Gamini theme partly with Ganesha and Lady with horse - animal with a female figure - all of which reveals an artiste’s fascination for female figure and epitomes of power women, she said.Paintings of Prabhakar Kolte, Sunil Das and Samir Aich were also on display at the show.Samir Aich was present at the inaugural day of the exhibition on December 17 which also displayed paintings by Arpana Caur, Dhiraj Chowdhury and will continue till mid-January.
